Grace
Unmerited love and divine empowerment granted by God.
Justification
A legal act by which God declares a sinner not guilty but righteous based on Christ’s merits.
Righteousness of God
Involves both active righteousness, where God punishes sin, and passive righteousness, where God justifies the believer.
Catholic view of justification
Salvation is a process that comes through works and sacraments.
Traditional Protestant view of justification
Salvation is a process that comes through faith alone.
Sanctification
The process of becoming more like Christ, involving three aspects: positional, progressive, and completed.
Positional Sanctification
God’s setting apart of believers as new creations upon accepting faith in Jesus.
Progressive Sanctification
The ongoing transformation of believers to please God during their earthly life.
Completed Sanctification
The final state of believers when they are fully conformed to Christ's image.
Wesleyan view of sanctification
Belief that Christian perfection (no intentional sin) is achievable post-conversion.
Keswick view of sanctification
Emphasizes a decisive moment of surrender to receive power for victorious Christian living.
Arminian view of election
Election is conditional based on God’s foreknowledge of future faith.
Reformed view of election
Unconditional election based on God's will and good pleasure for both service and salvation.

Includes empowering leaders, giving gifts, and involvement in creation.

Difference between OT and NT Spirit experience
In the OT, the Spirit was temporary and selective; in the NT, the Spirit is permanent and given to all believers.
