Rule of Thirds
A type of composition in which an image is divided evenly into thirds, both horizontally and vertically
Focal Point
The area of interest in a composition that attracts the viewer's eye, often enhanced by lighting or placement.
Depth
The distance between the nearest and furthest elements in a scene that appear to be acceptably sharp in an image
Movement
The way a camera shifts to visually narrate and shape a viewer's perspective of a scene
Wide Angle
A wide field of view
Close Up
A tightly cropped shot that shows a subject up close and with significantly more detail than the human eye usually perceives
Bird's Eye
When the camera is placed directly above the subject
Medium Shot
A film shot that stretches from around the waist (or sometimes the knees) of a subject up to their head
Long Shot
A view of a scene that is shot from a considerable distance, so that people appear as indistinct shapes
Establishing Shot
Wide or extreme wide shots of buildings or landscapes
Generative AI
A type of artificial intelligence that can create content such as text, images, or music based on input data.
AI Bias
The systematic favoritism or prejudice in AI algorithms that leads to unfair treatment or outcomes for certain groups.
AI Hallucination
The phenomenon where an AI generates incorrect or nonsensical information that it presents as factual. It often occurs due to limitations in the training data or model interpretation.
Deep Fake
A synthetic media created using AI to replace a person's likeness or voice with another's, often used for deceptive purposes.
Media Literacy
The ability to critically access, analyze, and evaluate media content, understanding its messages, production techniques, and potential biases.
Prompt Engineering
The practice of designing and refining input prompts to elicit desired responses from AI models, optimizing their performance and relevance.
Disinformation
False information spread deliberately to mislead people, often for political or financial gain.
AI accountability
The responsibility of developers and organizations to ensure that artificial intelligence systems are transparent, ethical, and comply with regulations, especially regarding their impact on society.
