What are Autotropes
Organisms that can produce its own food using light, water, CO2, and other chemicals
What are Heterotropes
An organism that cannot produce its own food and can only obtain food by consuming other organisms or organic matter
What is Homeostasis
The ability to maintain internal conditions in response to the environment changes
What is Internal stimulus
A reaction to internal factors
What is External stimulus
A reaction to external factors
What is Sexual reproduction
Two organisms create a new organism with mixed genes
What is asexual reproduction
A copy of the parent organism with the same genes
What are prokaryote cells
a simple unicellular organism that has no membrane bound organelles and are all bacteria
What are Eukaryotes cells
Complex organisms that can be unicellular and contain organelles surrounded by membrane including the nucleus
Define Multicellular organisms
Made of more than one cell. The cells develop through cell differentiation for different functions and have different appearance. Cells that are specialized to preform certain functions
Define Unicellular organisms
Made up of one cell. Can be prokaryote or eukaryote cell. The one cell carries out the function to maintain life. There is NO cell specialization
Name some diffrent cell specialized multicellular organisms
Neuron part of the nervous system. Red blood cells part of the circulatory system. Sperm cell. It fertilizes the egg cell.
What is adaptation
It is a characteristic that helps an organism survive and reproduce in its environment.
What was Aristotles belief on natural selection
He believed that animals were placed on earth by god and have never changed
What was Lamarck’s first theory’s on natural selection
The law of use and disuse (the more the body part is used the more developed it is)
