Ambu Bag

a hand-held device that is used to manually breathe for the patient on a temporary basis

Anesthetic Machines

Used to deliver an inhaled anesthetic to keep the animal unconscious through surgery.

Autoclave

Piece of equipment used to sterilize articles by way of steam under pressure and/or dry heat

Autoclave tape indicator

Used to show that the instruments have been properly steralized by changing colors.

Backhaus Towel Clamps

used to attach towels and drapes to the pt. and pointed tips that curve and join like ice tongs

Balling Gun

tool used to administer pills, boluses, or magnets to livestock

Bandaging Material - Elasticon

stretchy, adhesive bandaging material that applies local pressure

Elizabethen Collar

A circular plastic shield, resembling a lampshade, that encircles the neck and extends to the end of the muzzle. The collar prevents the animal from chewing at its bandages.

Can be used in equine but for very soft adjustment, used to trim off hoof wall

to smooth the rough edges of the hoof wall after trimming

instrument to visually examine the abdomen

instrument used for visual examination of the larynx

Muzzle- Basket

a guard or strap fitted over an animal's nose and jaws to prevent it biting or eating.

light weight needle driver with cross-hatched faces to hold the needle while suturing tissue

Needle Holder - Olsen-Hegar

needle holder combined with cutting blade; used for driving the needle then cutting the suture without need of changing instruments

used for traction and to snare extremities during obstetrics in cattle and horns and aid in pulling the calf/foal out gently

instrument used to examine the interior of the eye

pig tooth nippers

a pincer-like tool with the blades curved in to face each other at the ends which are composed of two chisel edges opposing one another. Used in horses and cattle to nip off the bottom edge of the wall of the hoof and the adjoining sole.

Surgical Drapes
