2 similar religious views on homosexual relationships

Liberal Christian’s believe that homosexual relationships are ok as long as they are long term. They believe that people who are homosexual were born that way and they were still made in the image of God.

A similar view is the view of the Church of England, who also believe they are acceptable, so long as they are committed and long term. The Church of England believes this as they believe homosexuality is a part of someone’s nature and not their nurture. The bible also teaches them that “God looked at everything he made and it was good”, this include homosexuality.

2 contrasting religious views on homosexual relationships

The Church of England accept homosexual relationships, so long as they are committed and long term. The Church of England believes this as they believe homosexuality is a part of someone’s nature and not their nurture. The bible also teaches them that “God looked at everything he made and it was good”, this includes homosexuality.

A different view on homosexuality is the catholic view, as they are against homosexual couples. Catholics believe this as they are taught that a “man leaves his father and is united with his wife”.

2 similar religious views on sex before marriage

Catholics believe that pre-marital sex is unacceptable. The bible teaches catholics that “a man… is united with his wife and they will become one flesh”, this demonstrates that Catholics will see sex as something that only comes after a man is ‘United’ with his wife (after they are married).

Similarly, Muslims believe that sex before marriage is wrong. Muslims may believe this as sex is a ‘gift from God’ and your are very vulnerable at this time and it should the fore be saved for someone special; your husband or wife.

2 contrasting religious views on sex before marriage

Catholics believe that pre-marital sex is unacceptable. The bible teaches catholics that “a man… is united with his wife and they will become one flesh”, this demonstrates that Catholics will see sex as something that only comes after a man is ‘United’ with his wife (after they are married).

However, the Church of England can see sex before marriage as acceptable as it can be viewed as a step leading to marriage. Whilst the Church of England doesn’t find it completely unacceptable, they still encourage sex to happen within marriage as it is a ‘Gift from God’ and involves vulnerability.

2 similar religious views on sex outside of marriage

Catholics will view sex outside of marriage as completely unacceptable. Exodus teaches Catholics to “Not commit adultery”, Catholics aim to follow the Ten Commandments and will therefore not have any exceptions to this.

Similarly, Muslims will see adultery as completely unacceptable. Muslims believe this because the Qur’an also teaches them to “not commute adultery”, and Muslims will accept and follow Allahs commands.

Roles of children in families (2)

Children are meant to take care of their mother and father as they grow older. Christian children will do this as the bible teaches them to “Honour their farther and mother”, this will lead Christian children to provide money, shelter and care if needed for their parents out of respect as they grow old.

Children are also taught to “obey their parents” in the bible. Therefore children will want to do what their parents tell them as they grow up and learn about the world and God.

Roles of parents in families

A role of parents is to not discourage their children in life. Christian’s are taught in the bible to “not provoke your children, so they will not become discouraged”, this leads parents to guide their children and not berate them if they do something wrong.

Additionally, parents are taught to spread teachings of God to their children. Christian parents are taught in the Ephesians to “bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord”, this will influence them to guide their children on how to live a god life, and how to avoid sin.

2 similar religious views on contreception

Catholics believed that people shouldn’t use contraception. Catholics believe this as the Catechisms told them that “Every sexual act must be open to the possibility of reproduction. This will lead them to avoid contraception as this limits the possibilities of procreation.

Similarly, Muslims will go against contraception as they should, when possible, have children. Muslims are taught in the Qur’an to “not kill their children in fear of poverty, killing them is a greater sin” leading them to not use contraception as they will not want to disobey Allah in fear of sin.

Catholics believed that people shouldn’t use contraception. Catholics believe this as the Catechisms told them that “Every sexual act must be open to the possibility of reproduction. This will lead them to avoid contraception as this limits the possibilities of procreation.

On the other hand, the Church of England does allow for natural methods of contraception, such as the withdrawal method. The Church of England believe this as they think that Christian’s should be able to decide when they want to start a family.

2 similar religious views on divorce

The Church of England allows divorce, but still advices couples to seek reconciliation. However they are accepting of divorcee as Jesus taught with love and compassion and they would not wish for someone to remain in an abusive relationship.

Similarly, Methodists allow divorce under certain circumstances as it can be seen as the lesser of two evils. For example, if someone was a victim of domestic violence it would be be preferable for the marriage to end rather than have it continue and therefore continue the unnecessary violence.

The Church of England allows divorce, but still advices couples to seek reconciliation. However they are accepting of divorcee as Jesus taught with love and compassion and they would not wish for someone to remain in an abusive relationship.

On the other hand, Catholics do not allow divorce as they see marriage as a sacrament that was approved by God, and therefore it shouldn’t be broken. Malachi also taught Catholics that “God hates divorce”, this will further highlight to Catholics how unacceptable divorce is.

2 similar religious views on cohabitation

Catholics are against the idea of Cohabitation. They’d re taught by the Catechism that “Sexual act must always take place exclusively within a marriage. Outside of marriage constitues a grave sin.” This leads Catholics to disapprove of Cohabitation as it goes against God’s guidance.

Similarly, Muslims also disagree with the idea of cohabitation. Muslims disagree with this because sex within marriage is a gift from Allah, and Muslims shouldn’t take it outside of marriage.

Catholics are against the idea of Cohabitation. They’d re taught by the Catechism that “Sexual act must always take place exclusively within a marriage. Outside of marriage constitues a grave sin.” This leads Catholics to disapprove of Cohabitation as it goes against God’s guidance.

On the other hand, whilst it isn’t promoted, the Church of England can see cohabitation as somewhat acceptable. This is because it can be viewed as a step towards marriage, or a trial marriage. The Church of England would encourage any cohabiting couples to get married, but will accept why they have made the decision to cohabitate.

2 similar religious views on gendre equality

Liberal Christians will believe that men and women should be treated as equals. They believe this as they are taught in the Galatians that “male or female for you are all one in the eyes of Jesus Christ”. This shows Christians that Jesus viewed men and women as equals, leading them to think in the same way.

Similarly, The Church of England will also believe that both gendres should be treated with respect. The Church of England recognises that Jesus taught with love and compassion, and also follow the golden rule which leads them to treat everyone with love and respect.

They will believe this as in Timothy 2, it is said that “I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man”. This shows how conservatives wont allow for woman priests or bishops.
