Hepatic encephalopathy findings

1. Anorexia

2. Drowsiness

3. Jaundice

4. Convulsion

5. Coma

6. Disorientation

Hepatic encephalopathy investigation

1. LFT- serum bilirubin, SGPT(ALT), SGOT(AST), prothrombin time increased

2. Serological- ammonia increased, glucose, BUN, decreased, creatinine altered, electrolytes( hyponatremia, hypokalemia), arterial blood gas analysis( respiratory alkalosis, metabolic acidosis)

3. CBC & PBF- thrombocytopenia, anemia, leukocytosis

Clinical findings of viral hepatitis

Vital signs, Sleep pattern, disorientation, talk to another, biochemical findings persistence, hepatomegaly,

Investigation of viral hepatitis

1. LFT serum bilirubin, SGPT, prothrombin time, ALP all prolonged

2. Vital markers- anti HAV, HEV, HEC, HBsAg

3. USG of abdomen- hepatic ecogenecity, to assess ascitis
