May 1837 Panic of 1837 hits Ohio and JS is unable to pay creditors on goods purchased for store. Aug apostates break up meeting in Kirtland Temple. Nov. Kirtland safety society closes its doors. Jan 1838 JS flees Kirtland to escape enemies, arrives in Far West Missouri in march.
