pancreas
a gland that serves both the digestive and endocrine system. It secretes the 2 hormones, glucogon and insulin. They regulate the level of glucose in the blood.
adrenal gland
glands that produce hormones that regulate the body’s salt and water balance
thymus
regulates the development of the immune system
hypothalamus
links the endocrine system and the nervous system and stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete hormones.
pineal gland
secrets the hormone melatonin which is thought to affect the onset of puberty and regulates the sleep cycle.
parathyroid gland
produces a hormone that regulates the body’s balance of calcium and phosphorus
thyroid
produces hormones that regulate metabolism, body heat, and bone growth
pituitary gland
regulates and controls the activities of all the other endocrine glands
