Madison writes that there needs to be a system of checks and balances to prevent tyranny. He acknowledges that human nature is not pure and needs a gov’t to control society. For justice to be achieved there must be a form of checks and balances system.

Talks about the dangers of factions and inevitably factions will still be there. There are ways to prevent it from being too dangerous and that is by having a large republic. The paper argues that its better than a direct democracy.

Argues that there needs to be a strong and unified executive in order to carry out quick and precise decisions. Hamilton argues that there shouldn’t be a council of executives and it should only be one bc if theres a council it would lead to arguments and it would divide the gov’t.

Federalist Paper No 78

Discusses the judicial’s branch’s role in the U.S. Gov’t. Hamilton describes the Judiciary as the least dangerous aspect of the gov’t because they mainly make decisions in respect to the Constitution. He argues for the independence of the judiciary (why they should be for life term, why they shouldn’t be voted by the ppl etc) and the importance of judicial review.
