Scalar Quantity
Physical quantities that have only magnitude and no direction. Can be positive, negative, zero. Can be symbolized as r + A.
Vector Quantity
Physical quantities that have both magnitude and direction. Can be symbolized as a letter with an arrow on top representing the direction.
Acceleration
The rate at which an object's velocity changes over time. It can be positive, negative, or zero.
Free Fall
An object falling under the influence of gravity alone, with no other forces acting on it.
Distance (Scalar)
The total length of the path traveled by an object.
Displacement (Vector)
The change in position of an object from its initial point to its final point, including both distance and direction.
Uniform Motion
Motion of an object with constant speed and direction.
Instantaneous Velocity
The rate of change of an object's position at a specific point in time. It measures how fast and in which direction the object is moving at that exact moment.
Speed (Scalar)
How fast an object moves. The greater the distance traveled in a given time interval, the greater the speed. The steeper the slope, the faster the speed.
Velocity (Vector)
The rate of change of an object's position with respect to time, including its direction.
Magnitude
The size or amount of a quantity, measured without considering its direction. Can be positive and zero, but CANNOT be negative.
Kinematics
The branch of Physics that deals with the description of motion.
