6th Schedule
Provides for the administration of tribal areas in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram to safeguard tribal rights under Article 244(2) and Article 275(1) of the Constitution.
Autonomous Districts
Tribal areas under the 6th Schedule are constituted as autonomous districts with varying degrees of autonomy within the State Legislature.
Regional Council
Each autonomous district under the 6th Schedule can have a separate regional council for local governance.
5th Schedule
Applies to the administration and control of scheduled areas and tribes in states other than Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram under Article 244(1) of the Constitution.
Scheduled Areas
Areas where the executive power of the state extends, with both the Centre and States having roles in administration, as per the 5th Schedule.
Governor's Powers
Empowered to exempt specific acts of parliament or state government from applying to scheduled areas and can make regulations for peace and good governance in Scheduled Areas.
