Swimming has been proven to be an excellent sport for all body conditioning.
It provides cardiovascular fitness, muscular fitness and increased flexibility. Injuries are few and mild compared to other sports. Swimming is essential for a safe and healthy lifestyle activity.
Swimming teaches self-discipline
A swimmer trains and works hard because they want to do it for their own self. No one can make person dedicate countless numbers of hours to a sport that is very repetitious.
Swimming is a very technical sport.
Having to learn all the different strokes correctly enables a swimmer to learn these skills properly in order to achieve success. Swimmers learn how to be coached and to take in what is taught effectively.
Swimming provides a sense of satisfaction.
The benefits of hard work are directly related performance. The more diligently a swimmer works, the greater the reward. There are no judges with subjective scores, and there is no reliance on the efforts of anyone else but the clock to evaluate a swimmer’s efforts.
Swimming is also not just above the individual but also about teamwork.
Swimmers, parents, coaches all have to work together to provide a good swimming environment.
Swimming also encourages good sportsmanship.
Swimmers can appreciate their own success and that of the other swimmers because they can understand how much effort goes into the training and the importance of setting goals to achieve personal best times.
Swimming as a sport is great for learning how to be organized
Making practices, packing up for a swim meet and setting goals are few of the many things that help a swimmer become better prepared to juggle all the other activities in their lives
Swimming is a sport for all ages, for a person’s entire life-time.
It’s a sport for the whole family and it creates good memories and wonderful friendships.
