Psoas Major
Originates from vertebral bodies T12 -L5 and inserts at the lesser trochanter of the femur; innervated by the lumbar plexus.
Iliacus
Originates from the iliac crest and fossa, sacral ala, and anterior sacroiliac ligaments; inserts at the lesser trochanter of the femur and psoas major tendon; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Tensor Fascia Latae
Originates from the iliac crest and anterior superior spine; inserts at the lateral condyle of tibia via the iliotibial band; innervated by the superior gluteal nerve.
Gluteus Medius
Originates from the ilium and inserts at the greater trochanter of the femur; innervated by the superior gluteal nerve.
Gluteus Minimus
Originates from the ilium and inserts at the greater trochanter of the femur; innervated by the superior gluteal nerve.
Gluteus Maximus
Originates from the ilium, sacrum, and coccyx; inserts at the lateral condyle of tibia via the iliotibial band and gluteal tuberosity of femur; innervated by the inferior gluteal nerve.
Sartorius
Originates on and below the anterior superior spine of ilium and inserts at the medial aspect of the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Gracilis
Originates from the pubis and inserts at the medial aspect of the proximal tibia; innervated by the obturator nerve.
Semimembranosus
Originates from the ischial tuberosity and inserts at the medial condyle of the tibia, collateral ligament of the knee; innervated by the tibial nerve.
Semitendinosus
Originates from the ischial tuberosity and inserts at the medial shaft of the tibia near the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the tibial nerve.
Adductor Longus
Originates from the pubis and inserts at the linea aspera of femur; innervated by the obturator nerve.
Adductor Brevis
Originates from the pubis and inserts at the linea aspera of femur; innervated by the obturator nerve.
Pectineus
Originates from the pubis and inserts at the posterior aspect of the proximal femur; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Adductor Magnus
Originates from the ischium and pubis and inserts at the linea aspera of femur; innervated by the obturator and tibial nerves.
Vastus Intermedius
Originates from the anterior and lateral shaft of the femur; inserts at the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Rectus Femoris
Originates from the anterior inferior spine of ilium; inserts at the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Vastus Lateralis
Originates from the greater trochanter and linea aspera of the femur; inserts at the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the femoral nerve.
Vastus Medialis
Originates from the linea aspera of the femur; inserts at the tibial tuberosity; innervated by the femoral nerve.
