Schutzstaffel was the elite paramilitary group of the Nazi Party. Led by Heinrich Himmler.

Began as Hitler’s small personal bodyguard unit. Became responsible for running concentration camp system, enforcing racial policies. Unlike the SA, the SS was highly organised.
