UE D1 Flexion
Pt lay on back. Arm off edge table, with palm down. Grab distal humerus with one hand and their wrist with the other.
Tell them to
“squeeze my fingers, turn your palm up and pull your arm up and across your face”

UE D1 Extension
Pt lay on back. After the D1 Flexion position, we will be helping to bring arm back down. So tell them to
“open your hand and then push your arm down and out”

UE D2 Flexion
Pt lay on back. One arm on top of the patients hand, the other on the elbow crease/humerus. Ask the patient to
“lift your arm up and out, opening your fingers and putting your thumb down”

UE D2 Extension
Pt lay on back. After the D2 Flexion position, we will be helping bring them back down. So tell them to
“squeeze my fingers and pull your arm across your chest to the opposite hip”

LE D1 Flexion
Pt lays on back. One hand grabbing top of foot/ankle and the other above knee. Start in ankle PF and Inversion. Tell the patient to
“flex your foot and toes up, and bring your knee up and out”
End in ankle DF and Eversion with knee out and foot in

LE D1 Extension
Pt lays on back. After D1 Flexion position, we will be bringing them back down. Start with ankle DF and Eversion with knee out and foot in. Tell them to
“Point your toe and bring your leg down and out”
End with straight leg, ankle PF and Inversion

LE D2 Flexion
Pt lays on back. Grab patients foot/ankle and then top of knee with other. Start in ankle PF and inversion. Tell the patient to
“ bring your foot and toes up, and bring your knee in and foot out”
End with ankle DF and Eversion, with knee in and foot out

LE D2 Extension
Pt lays on back. After D2 Flexion position, we will be bringing them back down. Start in ankle DF and Eversion with knee in and foot out. Tell them to
“point your toes and bring your leg down and in”
End in straight leg with ankle PF and inversion.
