  • The trend that was started by Muhammad Ghandi to grant indians with independence(aka - the India Act of 1935) faced challenges in the form of increasing calls for independent yet seperate Hindu and Muslim states.

  • With constant negotiations happening asking the British for independence the Muslims decided to stop resisiting and called for a Day of Direct Action which made them look even more like a threat and led to Jinnah restating his claim that: The only solution to India’s problem is Pakistan.

  • This is when that idea of dividing India into separate Hindu and Muslim states begun, Ghandi had visions that this would happen and refugees began migrating to Muslim Pakistan or Hindu India. This is when they were partioned.
