Passed on from generation to generation in the form of genes.
Allele
A version of a gene.
Dominant Allele
Shows their trait even if only one copy is present.
Recessive Allele
Their trait only shows if both copies are the recessive allele.
Dominant Trait
The trait that is always expressed or shown.
Recessive Trait
A trait that is covered up or seems to disappear.
Homozygous Dominant
The individual only has genes for the dominant trait.
Homozygous Recessive
The individual only has genes for the recessive trait.
Heterozygous
An individual that has one dominant gene and one recessive gene for a trait.
Genotype
Is the genetic make up for a trait.
Phenotype
Is what we end with.
