What is Aerobic Power?
The maximum rate of ATP production from the aerobic energy system
What is Anaerobic Capacity?
The total amount of energy supplied from the anaerobic energy system
What is Agility?
The ability to change direction quickly with balance and control
What is Muscular Strength?
The amount of force that a muscle or group of muscles can exert against resistance in a one repetition maximum (1RM)
What is Muscular Power?
The ability of the body to produce force as quickly as possible in a contraction
What is Muscular Endurance?
The ability of a muscle/ muscle group to sustain an activity without considerable local fatigue
What is balance?
The ability to maintain equilibrium while stationary or moving
What is Coordination?
The skilful and effective interaction of movement based on inputs of the senses.
What is Flexibility?
The range of movement possible at various joints
What is Speed?
The pace at which a person moves from one point to another in the shortest possible time.
What is Direct Observation?
This involves viewing the game and providing feedback based on personal observations.
What is the purpose of fitness testing?
Assess strengths and weaknesses of athlete
Motivate athlete
Assess suitability of athlete for sports or positions within a sport
Set benchmarks to allow coach and athlete to set specific goals - acts as a motivator
