type of government in the US, we elect or select people to make decisions for us (House/Senate voting on things)

Politics

conflicts and compromise over the character, membership, and policies of the government 

Political Culture

• the shared values, ideas, and attitudes that bind a country and its people together

  • Ex. We all believe in equal opportunity -> politics is us arguing on how to get there

Citizenship

• (verb) active and informed in a political community

  • voting

Digital Citizenship

participating in an online society

Popular Sovereignty

• power to the people, final authority of government comes from the people 

  • Ex. “We the People…”
