Brown v. Board of Education Topeka, Kansas
The overturning of Plessy v. Ferguson on the 17 of May, getting rid of the “separate but equal” ideology. The brown undercut foundation for segregation, however the brown led to made more battles over segregation, leading to a follow up in 1955 which left enforcement of brown to federal district courts in the south which were predominantly white. This ultimately lead to a delay in the implantation of the brown.
Southern Christian Leadership Conference
Martin Luther King and a like-minded group of southern black ministers formed the SCLC to spread nonviolent protest throughout the region.
