- Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, takes case to king who refuses to negotiate
- Northumberland assassinated by rebels led by Robert Chamber
- 5000 rebels march to Doncaster, retreat and capture York
- Earl of Surrey defeats them, made lieutenant for this area

Resentment over taxation granted by Parliament to finance war in Scotland
- Cornish refused because war would be so far away

lawyer and blacksmith, claimed it a crime for King to oppress Cornish with tax. Mainly blamed John Morton (ab of Canterbury) and Reginald Bray

- reached Blackheath on 16th June, King had to withdraw troops from North to fight rebels
- Battle of Deptford Bridge, 1000 Cornsih killed, rebels defeated by Lord Daubeny and Sir Rhys Ap Thomas
- Audley and two og leaders executed
