Establishes liability for damage to natural resources resulting from oil spills

Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES)

Controls and regulates international trade of threatened plants and animals

Endangered species act

Authorizes US Fish and Wildlife service to determine which species are endangered or threatened.

Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Delaney clause)

Prohibits the use, in food, of additives which have not been tested ex. Herbicides and pesticides.

Kyoto Protocol

Many nations commit to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to reduce global warming.

Montreal Protocol

Many nations commit to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of substances like CFCs responsible for ozone depletion.

Resource Conservation and Recovery Act

Regulates the management of hazardous waste, non-hazardous wastes, medical wastes, and underground storage tanks, basically governs the disposal of solid and hazardous wastes in USA.

sets standards for water quality including assessing groundwater, but bottled water not included
