proof of climate change
guy stewart callendar, keeling curve, Mann hockey stick
proof that climate change is anthropogenic
recent studies indicate the rise in global average surface temps since 1951 is mostly associated w changes in anthropogenic GHGs and aerosols. IPCC models of climate separated the influence of naturla and anthropogenic climate forcing factors, such as GHGs, to show that human activities are responsible for most of the 0.5C rise in global temperatures from 1970-2000.
Keeling Curve
shows steady rising atmospheric CO2 concentrations from about 315 ppm in 1957 to abt 417 ppm in 2020; a 32% increase
Guy Stewart Callendar
observed based on measurements of carbon dioxide and temperature readings from weather stations that world temps had increased more than 0.2C between 1890 and 1935; proposed that rising CO2 caused the change
Mann “hockey stick”
average annual temps over time showed clear warming trend - straight up after the 1900s
