What is a habitat?
Place where an organism lives
What is a population?
All the organisms of one species that live in the same place at the same time and can breed together
What is a community?
All the populations of different species that live in the same place at the same time and can interact with each other

All the living organisms and all the non living components in a specific habitat, and the interrelationships between them

What factors can affect populations?
Living factors (food supply, production and disease) non-living factors (temp,pH, soil type)
What is a producer?
Plants, algae and some photosynthetic bacteria that can capture light energy and convert it to chemical energy during photosynthesis, can also be autotrophs
What is a consumer?
Feeds on producers or other consumers, can also be known as heterotrophs
What do decomposers do?
Most communally bacteria but also some animals and fungi - feed on waste and dead materials. Most are saprotrophs
What are trophic levels?
The level that an organism feeds
