Confucianism

code of ethical conduct of how one should properly act according to his or her relationship with others; centered on ren

Golden rule

do not do to others, what you do not want others to do unto you

Ren

guides human action/ reflects understanding of one to humanity developed understanding through personal experiences in life.

li (propriety)

translated to propriety in english; pertains to the standards/norms that should be followed

Delayed Gratification

Confucius

who said “to master oneself and return to humanity is propriety”

Xiao (Filiality) 

filiality in english. respect for the family/reverence; further demonstrated by bringing honor to the family 

Yi (rightness)

rightness in english; unconditional and absolute. right is right and what is not right is wrong.

Taoism

emphasize harmony in humans and natural world; prefer simple lifestyle and there is a balanced life between nature and society.

yin

in yin yang, this is the black color; bad in good

yang

in yin yang, this is the white color; good in bad

Buddhism

born out of ignorance and they break attachment from the world. mentioned concentrate and meditate

suffering

cause by attachment to desires

Nirvana

goal of buddhism which in the goal is to end suffering

Collectivism 

harmony and interdependence of group members are stressed and valued.

independence an self reliance are greatly stressed and valued.
