Cell membrane
aka plasma membrane
Regulates inflow and outflow of cytoplasmic substances
Nucleus
contains genetic materials / DNA in chromosomes, RNA in nucleolus, nuckear sap and nuclear envelope
Mitochondrion
boat / sausage shaped
Regarded as the powerhouse of cell for it produces energy in the form of ATP thru kreb’s cycle/citric/tricarboxylic acid cycle
Lysosome and Peroxisomes
Contains hydrolytic and oxidative enzymes, respectively for destroying foreign agents (esp in phagocytic cells/cells capable of engulfing bacteria and viruses)
RER / granular ER
for protein synthesis
SER / agranular ER
for lipid, steroid, and carbohydrate synthesis
Ribosomes
Freely suspende in cytoplasm. Protein synthesis for internal use (lipoproteins, glycoproteins, etc.)
Golgi apparatus
aka golgi complex / golgi body
Packages secretory products of RER and SER prior to release out of cell
Centriole
Paired organelle (located in centrosome) which migrate to opposite poles during mitosis and meiosis and served to organize and guide the mitotic spindle during cell division process
