Hardware
The physical components of a computer system that can be touched, such as input devices, output devices, CPU, and storage.
Software Applications
Programs designed to perform specific tasks for users, categorized by functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
Input Devices
Hardware used to enter data or instructions into a computer system; examples include keyboard, mouse, and scanner.
Output Devices
Hardware that presents or translates processed data from the computer into a human-readable form, such as monitors and printers.
Central Processing Unit (CPU)
The main processor in a computer that controls operations and processes data.
Memory
Temporary storage for data, instructions, and processed information used by the CPU.
Storage Devices
Hardware used for storing data permanently until needed, like hard disks and USB drives.
Types of Computers
Classification of computers by size and power, including personal computers, workstations, minicomputers, mainframes, and supercomputers.
Client/Server Model
An architecture where client devices request services from a more powerful server.
Volatile Memory
Memory that loses its content when power is turned off, such as RAM.
Non-Volatile Memory
Memory that retains its content even when the power is off, such as ROM.
Multifunction Printers (MFP)
Devices that combine several functions, such as printing, scanning, and faxing.
Magnetic Tape
A type of storage that uses a magnetic medium to store large amounts of data, accessed sequentially.
Solid State Storage
Storage technology that uses flash memory to provide faster access and lower power consumption compared to traditional magnetic storage.
Multi-core Processors
Processors with multiple processing units that allow simultaneous execution of multiple tasks.
