Where is DNA Found
Primarily found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, organized into chromosomes
What does the DNA do?
provide information on how to build and operate an organism to replicate itself.
What are the components of DNA?
The components of DNA are nucleotides, which include a phosphate group, a sugar (deoxyribose), and nitrogenous bases.
What are the 4 nitrogenous bases?
The four bases are A (adenine), T (thymine), C (cytosine), and G (guanine).
What are anitparallel strands?
two strands that run in opposite directions so bases line up correctly.
What are hydrogen bonds?
The strands that are held together by weak hydrogen bonds which makes it easy to seperate them during replication.
Alleles
represent the different variations of a gene.
Homozygous
both alleles are identical
