Human Brain ("Human")
The logical, rational part of the psychological mind responsible for reasoned decision-making.
Chimp
The emotional, instinctive part of the psychological mind that can override logic under stress to protect us.
Computer (Brain Storage)
The memory bank that stores experiences and references used by the human brain when reacting.

Internal drivers that stimulate self-motivation, such as personal values or passions.

A strategic planning tool used to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Steve Peters
Psychiatrist and author of ‘The Chimp Paradox’; proposed the human-chimp-computer brain model.
The Chimp Paradox
Peters’ book explaining mind management through the human-chimp-computer framework.
Daniel Goleman
Psychologist who popularised Emotional Intelligence and its five pillars.
Tasha Eurich
Researcher who, with Goleman, identified internal and external forms of self-awareness.
Coach/Coachee Dynamic
Relationship where the coach helps the coachee develop skills like self-awareness to manage emotions.
