Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT)
A low-power version of the LTE or 4G cellular standard, characterized by lower bandwidth and suitable for small data packets.
Data Rates of NB-IoT
Limited to 20–100 kbps, optimized for sending small packets with low latency.
Penetrating Power
The ability of NB-IoT to work in inaccessible locations where ordinary cellular connectivity fails.
LTE-M
A low-power communication system supporting higher bandwidth up to approximately 1 Mbps.
Unique Serial Number or Code
A form of identification embedded in each IoT device's operating or control system.
Operational Technology (OT) Network
A cabled network for industrial systems, differentiated from ordinary IT networks, often using serial data protocols or industrial Ethernet.
Industrial Ethernet
A networking technology optimized for real-time, deterministic data transfers in industrial systems.
Baseband Radio
A technology that enables long-distance communication for IoT over systems that support mobile phones.
Baseband Processor
The component that functions as a cellular modem within cellular networks.
IoT Networking Standards
Developed products and standards specifically to facilitate IoT networks, distinct from standard Ethernet, cellular, and Wi-Fi.
