What was the outcome of the Connecticut Compromise/Great Compromise?

The outcome was that the government would be bicameral. One house (the senate) that had equal representation and one (the house) that was represented based on population.

The senate would benefit the smaller states while the house would benefit the larger states.

Yes, they did because their populations would be considered much larger if the slaves were counted giving them more representation in the legislative branch.

No, they thought counting slaves would be the same as counting horses in the population. They had already abolished slavery so it was thought to be an unfair advantage for the southern in decision making.

They did not talk about ending slavery because if the northern states brought up abolishing it in the south then the south would pull out of the union. In the end the convention decided to prioritize keeping the union.
