What is glomerular filtration?

A passive process driven by the pressure in the renal vascular bed.

What indicates active secretion?

If renal clearance is greater than the glomerular filtration rate, it indicates active secretion.

What indicates low renal clearance?

If renal clearance is considerably less than the GFR

What is creatinine clearance used as?

An estimate of GFR because creatinine is neither secreted nor absorbed.
