Hypotenuse
The longest side of a right triangle, opposite the right angle.
Legs of a triangle
The two shorter sides of a right triangle that form the right angle.
Area of a rectangle
Calculated by the formula A = l × w, where l is the length and w is the width.
Square root
A value that, when multiplied by itself, gives the original number; denoted as √x.
Pythagorean theorem
A formula used to determine the relationship between the sides of a right triangle: a² + b² = c².
Volume of a rectangular prism
Calculated as V = l × w × h, where l is the length, w is the width, and h is the height.
Percent
A fraction expressed as a part of 100; represented with the symbol %.
25% of 100
Equals 25; a quarter of a whole.
Area of a square
Calculated using the formula A = s², where s is the length of a side.
Triangle
A polygon with three edges and three vertices.
