LTO Cycle
Landing, Takeoff, and operations cycle in aviation that includes taxi, takeoff, climb, approach, and landing phases.
High NOx Route
Combustion path leading to higher Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emissions due to richer fuel burn.
Lean Burn
Operating condition where the fuel-to-air ratio is low, resulting in lower emissions of NOx.
Staged Combustor
A combustor design that divides fuel combustion into stages to reduce emissions.
Design Drivers
Factors that influence the design of a gas turbine, such as efficiency, emissions, and cost.
Compression Ratio (rc)
The ratio of the volume of the combustion chamber when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke to the volume when it is at the top.
Cycle Selection
The process of choosing thermodynamic cycles based on performance requirements of different engines.
Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT)
The temperature of the gas entering the turbine, a critical parameter affecting efficiency and material selection.
Engine Layout
The arrangement of components in gas turbines, such as single shaft or twin shaft configurations.
Fuel Consumption
The amount of fuel used per unit of power generated; an important factor in engine efficiency.
