The main, long, central part of a long bone.
Epiphysis
The tip or end of a long bone.
Metaphysis
The growing portion of bone located between the diaphysis and epiphysis.
Osteoblasts
Cells responsible for the formation of bone.
Osteoclasts
Cells responsible for the removal or resorption of bone tissue.
Epiphyseal Plate
The growth plate located between the metaphysis and epiphysis that allows bones to grow.
