Define nominal level data
Data which describes number of items in a category (e.g the number of british people in a race)
Define ordinal level data
Data that can be ranked or ordered, (e.g where the runners come in the race, or point on a happiness scale NOTE: the difference in times between 1st and 2nd is probably larger then the difference in time between 4th and 5th
Define interval level data
Data on a scale which has equal gaps between the points (e.g a measurement, length, time, degrees)
