Cabinet
A group of parilamentarians selected and led by the head of government to give advice to be responsible for its policies and to head the various governement ministries
Candidate
An individual who competes in a parliamentry election either as a member of a political party or as an independent candidate.
Capital
Funds used to start a business. There are other meanings, but this one is relevant here
Censorship
The regulation and control of media content, usually on grounds of politics, inappropriate content or religion
Census
A government survey to collect information on the population, usually repeated every ten years
Child abuse
The maltreatment or injury of a child by and adult.
Climate Change
The change in rainfall, hurricanes and temputure in particular locations where specfic weather patterns are noted.
Colony
A country which is governed by a more powerful country
Common External Tariff (CET)
A rate of customs duty which is uniformly applied by countries in an economic grouping to imports from countries which are not part of the group
Common Market
A group of countries which agree to promote free trade by removing all trade restrictions, aloow captial and labour to move freely amoung countries and charge common external tariffs on countries that arent members
Communication
Interaction through messages or signals usually between people but also computers, other machines and animals
Communiqué
An offical communication or press releasereporting events or opinions usually issued to news media

Protection of natural and man-made resources for future use
Constituency
A body of voters in a specfic geographical area who elect a representative to sit in the house of respresentatives.
Constitutional Monarchy
A system of government in which a country is ruled by a monarch whose power is limited by a constitution
Consumer
A person who accquires goods and services for personal, domestic or household use. The goods and services may therefore be consumed by the individual and/or his household.
Consumer Credit
Short terms loans for the purchase of goods. The goods bought with consumer credit are mainly durable goods susch as furniture, household appliances and cars.
Contraceptive
A device used to prevent fertilization of the egg in the female and therefore pregnancy

The legal ownership of a literary, artistic or creative work
Corruption
Illegal or dishonest behaviour on the part of someone who is in a position of authority
Cost of Living
the price of basic goods and services required for a maintaing the minimal standard of life- such as food,shelter. energy and clothes
Courtship
The period before engagaement or marriage when a couple gets to know each other better
Credit
An agreement in which goods, services or money are exchanged against a promise to pay later
Credit Union
A finiancial institution which is equally owned and managed by its members and serves its members only.
Cultural Diversity
The variation in cultural practices found within a specific place. This extends to all aspects of life including social structures.
Cultural Industries
The industries that create and produce goods and services that are a cultural nature.
Culture
Culture is all the custums, ideas, behaviours and beliefs of a society that have been passed on from generation to generation
Curative Health Care
Treatement of a disease through primary or secondary health care
Customs Union
The agreement between neighbouring countries to remove trage barriers and impose a universal external tariff on non- members.
