Origin: Transverse processes of C1 to C4

Insertion: Upper portion medial border of scapula

M. Rhomboid major

Origin: Spinous process of T2 to T5

Insertion: Medial border of scapula between spine and inferior angle

M.Rhomboid minor

Origin: Lower portion of ligamentum nuchae, spinous processes of C7 and T1

Insertion: Medial border of scapula at spine of scapula

M.Pectoralis Major

Origin: Medial half of clavicle and anterior surface of sternum, 1-7 costal cartilages, aponeurosis of external oblique

Insertion: Lateral lip of intertubercular sulcus of humerus

M. Subclavius

Origin: Rib I at junction between rib and costal cartilage

Insertion: Groove on inferior surface of middle third of clavicle

M.Pectoralis Minor

Origin: Anterior surfaces of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th ribs, and deep fascia overlying the related intercostal spaces

Insertion: Coracoid process of scapula

M.External oblique

Origin: Muscular slips from the outer surfaces of the lower eight ribs (ribs 5 to 12)

Insertion: lateral lip of iliac crest; aponeurosis ending in midline raphe (linea alba)

M.Internal oblique

Origin: Thoracolumbar fascia; iliac crest between origins of external and transversus; lateral 2/3 of inguinal ligament

Insertion: Inferior border of the lower 3 or 4 ribs; aponeurosis ending in linea alba; pubic crest and pectineal line

M.Transversus abdominis

Origin: Thoracolumbar fascia; medial lip of iliac crest; lateral1/3 of inguinal ligament; costal cartilages lower six ribs (ribs 7 to 12)

Insertion: Aponeurosis ending in linea alba; pubic crest and pectineal line

M.Rectus abdominis

Origin: Pubic crest, pubic tubercle, and pubic symphysis

Insertion: Costal cartilages of ribs 5 to 7; xiphoid process

M.Deltoid

Origin: Inferior edge of the crest of the spine of the scapula, lateral margin of the acromion, anterior border of lateral 1/3 of clavicle

Insertion: deltoid tuberosity of humerus

M.Supraspinatus

Origin: Medial 2/3 of the supraspinous fossa of the scapula and the deep fascia that covers the muscle

Insertion: Most superior facet on the greater tubercle of the humerus

M.Infraspinatus

Origin: medial 2/3 of the infraspinous fossa of the scapula and the deep fascia that covers the muscle

Insertion: Middle facet on posterior surface of the greater tubercle of the humerus

M.Teres minor

Origin: Upper 2/3 of a flattened strip of bone on the posterior surface of the scapula immediately adjacent to the lateral border of the scapula

Insertion: inferior facet of the posterior surface of the greater tubercle of the humerus

M.Teres Major

Origin: Elongate oval area on the posterior surface of the inferior angle of the scapula

Insertion: Medial lip of the intertubercular sulcus on the anterior surface of the humerus

Long head of triceps brachii

Origin: Infraglenoid tubercle on scapula

Insertion: Common tendon of insertion with medial and lateral heads on the olecranon process of ulna

Origin: Lateral surfaces of upper 8-9 ribs and deep fascia overlying the related intercostal spaces

Insertion: Costal surface of medial border of scapula

M.Subscapularis

Origin: Medial 2/3 of subscapular fossa

Origin: long head- supraglenoid tubercle of scapula; short head- apex of coracoid process

origin: humeral head- medial epicondyle of humerus; ulnar head - olecranon and posterior border of ulna

Insertion: Pisiform bone, then via pisohamate and pisometacarpal ligaments into the hamate and base of metacarpal V

Insertion: Palmar aponeurosis of hand

Origin: Anterior and medial surfaces of ulna and anterior medial half of interosseous membrane

Insertion: Four tendons, which attach to the palmar surfaces of the distal phalanges of the index, middle, ring and little fingers

Insertion: palmar surfaces of base of distal phalanx of thumb
