i.e. motor neurons and interneurons

bipolar neuron

two processes with one axon and one dendrite; limited/rare

i.e. in retina of the eye, olfactory neurons in nose

unipolar neuron

single processes from the cell body and divide into two branches; common

i.e. most (not all) sensory neurons

sensory neuron

brings information to cns

unipolar or bipolar neurons

motor neuron

takes information from cns to other parts of the body

multipolar neurons

interneurons

helps coordinate and integrate info between sensory and motor neurons (only in cns)
