What does the endocrine system consist of?
Glands that secrete hormones into the bloodstream.

Chemicals released by glands or tissues that interact with specific receptors on cells.

Pituitary gland.

Adrenaline.

To regulate blood glucose concentration.

Testosterone and sperm.

How does the endocrine system interact with the nervous system?
It works closely together to regulate body functions.
What are circulating hormones?
Hormones that travel around the body in the blood.
What are local hormones?
Hormones that act on neighboring cells without entering the bloodstream.

Dopamine, Growth Hormone, Oxytocin.
