In pyschological research, they’re developed from theories.
What do theories tend to be in psychology?

What’s a hypothesis?
A statement that’s made at the start of the study and clearly states the relationship between variables as stated by the theory.
What can hypotheses be?
Directional or non-directional
What do researchers do in a directional hypothesis?
The researcher makes clear the sort of difference that’s anticipated between 2 conditions or 2 groups of people.
What type of words would directional hypotheses include?
Words like more or less, higher or lower, faster or slower.
What does a non-directional hypothesis state?
There’s a difference between conditions or groups of people, but, the nature of the difference isn’t specified.
