Red Bone Marrow

This is the kind of bone marrow in which blood cells are made.

Yellow Bone Marrow

Gradually replaces red bone marrow in adult bones; functions as storage for fat tissue and is inactive in the formation of blood cells

Epiphyseal Line

The cartilage present at the junction of the diaphysis and epiphyses; a remnant of the epiphyseal plate.
