Standard for halal food businesses should follow:
MS1500 2009 halal food, provides guidelines for production, preparation, handling and storage
Halal products should fulfil the following conditions:
Does not contain any parts or ingredients of animals that are non halal by Shariah law or animals not slaughtered according to shariah law
Does not contains najs (impurity/dirt) according to shariah law
Safe for consumption, non-poisonous, non intoxicating and non hazardous(non-HIP)
Not prepared, processed or manufactured using equipment that is contaminated by najs according to shariah law
During process such as packaging food is physically separated from any other food that is non halal
