Titration
A process used to determine the concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration.
Buret
A graduated glass tube with a tap at one end, for delivering known volumes of a liquid, especially in titrations.
Erlenmeyer flask
A flask with a conical base and cylindrical neck, used in laboratories.
Indicator
A substance which changes color depending on the pH of the solution. (e.g., Phenolphthalein)
Molarity (mol/L)
A unit of concentration, defined as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
NaOH
Sodium hydroxide, a strong base whose concentration is determined by titration with a standard HCl solution.
HCl
Hydrochloric acid, a strong acid used as a titrant to determine the concentration of NaOH.
Phenolphthalein
A common indicator used in acid-base titrations, turning colorless in acidic solutions and pink in basic solutions.
m/V%
The mass/volume percent, expresses the concentration as grams of solute per 100 mL of solution.
