Main idea
We can plot points on a coordinate plane and connect them to make shapes called polygons
Polygon
A 2D shape with at least 3 straight sides
Coordinates x y
Show where a point is on the grid
X
How far left or right
Y
How far up or down
Example
4 2 means move right 4 and up 2
Step by step example
Points 1 -1 2 2 3 -1 plot each point connect the dots shape formed is a triangle
Quick reminders
Start at the origin 0 0 move x first then y connect points in order given shapes can be triangles squares rectangles or trapezoids
Memory tip
Think of plotting like walking on a map walk left or right for x then up or down for y
