Natural or cultural settings that have specific characteristics and features.

Humans are dependent on the earth for resources necessary for survival.
Continental Drift
The breakup of Pangaea into the world’s seven continents.
Relief
Refers to the height and shape of the land.
Erosion
The process of wearing down the surface of the earth through water movement.
Climate
The weather conditions of a particular place averaged out over a long time.
Latitude
The location of a place in relation to the equator.
Altitude
The height of a place above sea level.
Biome
A large geographical area that contains distinct plant and animal groups.
Ecosystem
A geographic area containing living and non-living things that interact.
Tropical Rainforest
Forest that grows in areas of very high rainfall.
Hot Desert
An area that receives very little rainfall (under 250mm).
Migration
The process of leaving one place and settling in another.
