رَجۡمَۢا بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ‌ۖ

Guessing about the unseen

أَعۡلَمُ بِعِدَّتِہِم

knows best their exact number

مِرَآءً ظَـٰهِرًا

an obvious argument

وَلَا تَسۡتَفۡتِ فِيهِم:

and do not inquire about them

عَسَىٰٓ

perhaps

أَبۡصِرۡ بِهِۦ وَأَسۡمِعۡ‌ۚ

how perfectly he sees and how perfectly he hears

لَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَـٰتِهِ

none can change his words

مُلۡتَحَدًا

a refuge

بِٱلۡغَدَوٰةِ وَٱلۡعَشِىِّ

the morning and the evening

أَغۡفَلۡنَا قَلۡبَهُ

we have made his heart heedless

فُرُطًا

excessive in neglect

أَحَاطَ بِہِمۡ

will surround them

سُرَادِقُهَا‌

its walls

وَإِن يَسۡتَغِيثُواْ

and if they call for relief

بِمَآءٍ كَٱلۡمُهۡلِ

with water like molten brass

يَشۡوِى ٱلۡوُجُوهَ‌ۚ

which will scald the faces

بِئۡسَ ٱلشَّرَابُ

horrible is the drink

وَسَآءَتۡ مُرۡتَفَقًا

and terrible is the resting place

سُندُسٍ وَإِسۡتَبۡرَقٍ

fine silk and heavy brocade

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيہَا

reclining therein

عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآٮِٕكِ‌ۚ

on adorned couches

وَحَفَفۡنَـٰهُمَا بِنَخۡلٍ

and we bordered them with date palms

ءَاتَتۡ أُكُلَهَا

brought forth its produce

وَلَمۡ تَظۡلِم مِّنۡهُ شَيۡـًٔا‌ۚ

and did not fall short thereof in anything

يُحَاوِرُهُ

conversing with him
