Describe the stage of Photosynthesis the Carbon Cycle?

CO2 in air is used up by it and green plants use carbon from CO2 to make carbohydrates, lipids and proteins.

Describe the stage of respiration in the Carbon Cycle?

Carbon compounds gets passed along animals through eating so respiration releases CO2 back into the air from living plants and animals.

Describe the role of decomposers in the Carbon Cycle?

Plants and animals will eventually die and decompose or are killed and turned into useful products.

When they do decompose they’re broken down by microorganisms(bacteria,fungi) which are known as decomposers.

They release enzymes which catalyse the breakdown of dead materials.

Decomposers will then release CO2 back into air by respiration.

Describe the stage of combustion in the Carbon cycle?

Some useful plant and animals product like wood and fossil fuels are burned(combustion) which releases CO2 back into the air.

Describe the stage of decomposition in the Carbon cycle?

Decomposition of material means that habitats can be maintained, nutrients are returned to soil and waste materials don’t just pile up.
