How does NOₓ control tropospheric ozone (O₃) production?

What is particulate matter?
Suspended solid or liquid particles in the air.
PM10 is the mass of particulate matter of sizes less than 10um
PM2.5 is the mass of particulate matter of sizes less than 2.5um
Primary particulate is the fraction of PM emitted directly into the atmosphere as particles.
Secondary particulate is the fraction that is emitted as gases and then oxidised, forming low volatility products that condense into particulate form.
