Cornea

clear cover. refracts light toward the pupil.

aqueous humor

jelly substance, provide nutrients to lens.

Iris

where light goes through the hole. Constricts w/light, dilates in the dark.

lens

made of protein and focuses light

Ciliary muscle

contracts=thicker lens.
dilates=thinner lens.

vitreous humor

keeps it round and keeps pressure.

retina

beige colour, where rods and cones are.

choroid layer

dark room.

scelera

shape of the eye

Fovea centralis

only has cones. most light sensitive.

Blind spot

where optic nerve attaches to the retina

optic nerve

looks like noodle. connects eye to occipital lobe.

Rhodospin

light sensitive pigment found in the rods of the eye.

glaucoma

an eye disease that damages the optic nerve and impairs vision

cataract

protein of lens becom denatured, become cloudy.

astigmatism

uneven surface of lens.

Myopia

Near sighted. eyeball too long.

Hypermetropia

Short sighted. eyeball too short.
